The Kellogg PTSA sponsors and supports many programs at Kellogg such as the Fun Run, Sock Hop, Hang Time, field trips and grant offerings. Due to COVID-19, many of these programs have been suspended. With the recent data gathered from our Family Survey, we are excited to provide a different types of support this year, such as online speaker events, family engagement opportunities, social connection events. We will be working closely with Kellogg Administration and staff to ensure we are focusing our support in those areas our community has the most need.
Current Programs are:
Community Outreach – These are in the form of clothing drives where we focus on gathering donations needed by the Works and other community outreach providers. We also provide support for the Holiday Food & Teen Gift Drive which is underway as of the last week of October. Registrations are due soon. Please look at that tab for more information.
Reflections – This is a yearly PTSA Art program that we offer at KMS. This year’s theme is “I matter because” Submissions are due November 18th. Please visit the Reflections tab to find out more details on how to register and submit your art!
Online Speaker Events – We will be scheduling a number of speaker events this year to support in the areas of:
– Supporting students & families with distant learning
– Mental health & well-being for students
– DEI Support (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)
– Supporting KMS in providing social connection opportunities for student
Our first event will be a free program online speaker event about teen mental health. Keep a lookout for more information/flyers coming your way.
Fundraising – We will still be doing a couple of fundraisers this year, although virtually. Our Virtual Pop Culture Trivia Night will be on November 13th, and we will be opening up our SWAG store last week of October! Funds raised through these two programs will help us fund our outreach, engagement and speaker events this year as well as seed money for next years program support.
Staff Support – Our staff support chairs will create 4-5 opportunities for our community to show appreciation to our amazing Kellogg Teachers and Staff. Please be on the lookout for next months staff support luncheon and how to sign up and help.
